On My Shelf

I will be the first to admit...I have a problem. I can't go into a store without coming out with a book. Just the other day I went into the Dollar Store and came out with books! How is that possible? Don't even get me started about Amazon. I mean seriously, the click of a button and books are sent directly to my Kindle. It's my little piece of paradise!

I hope to use this page to give you a preview every once in awhile of the various books I have on my bookshelf.

Current Reads:
School Related - Powwow Highway by David Seals...I absolutely love Native American literature, (I am 1/8 Chippewa-Cree!) but I really had a hard time getting into this book. On another note, the movie is hilarious :) I would give it a 3/5 stars

Where I'm Calling From - Raymond Carver...I can't recommend this book enough. Carver has funny, poignant short stories that you can't put down. Don't pick up this book if you don't have a lot of time or if you are offended by alcoholism and drugs. His stories deal with real issues so it can get intense at times. 5/5 stars

For Fun Reads:
Crazy Love - Francis Chan...What an amazing book! My youth pastor recommended this for me after we went through a unit by Francis Chan. His writing style makes it seems like he is sitting in front of you talking. It is intimate and eye opening. After every chapter, I have become more and more in awe of God and his creation. This book is for every person at any point in their Christian walk :) Without a doubt, 5/5 stars!
